Search for McMaster’s new Chief Facilities Officer begins
As Debbie Martin takes on her new role of Associate Vice-President, Real Estate, Partnerships and Ancillary Operations, McMaster has initiated the search for the next Associate Vice-President and Chief Facilities Officer (AVP & CFacO). The AVP & CFacO will lead the dedicated Facility Services team in delivering on the department’s Strategic Plan 2022-26, which focuses on four strategic drivers: Living Laboratory for Environmental Sustainability, Cultivating Human Potential, Operational Excellence, and Human Centric Spaces for “One University.”
Reporting to the Vice-President (Operations and Finance), the AVP & CFacO is also responsible for leading the Facilities Services team in the use, improvement and maintenance of McMaster’s campus and facilities. This includes building design, planning, construction, and maintenance services, utility services, energy and waste management, engineering operations, custodial services and grounds management.
By building collaborative relationships with the AVPs and other senior leaders in the development and delivery of initiatives, the AVP & CFacO will work to achieve the university’s institutional priorities. McMaster is looking forward to discussing this great opportunity with candidates who will bring a fresh perspective and valuable experience to the role while working to advance the university’s Sustainability Strategy and Campus Plan.
Consideration of candidates will begin in September, with a targeted date for the new Associate Vice-President and Chief Facilities Officer to begin in late fall of 2023.
